Company Overview: A leading financial firm providing creative, customized financing solutions across the capital structure. The firm caters to sponsors, management, shareholders, and other key stakeholders across various industries and financeable assets.
This role is based full time in NYC or Chicago
Key Responsibilities:
• Evaluate investment opportunities, including direct lending investments, secondary purchases of individual middle market loans, portfolio purchases, and NAV loans/GP financings.
• Analyze structured equity investments and equity co-investments associated with loans under consideration for purchase.
• Conduct detailed business diligence, including analysis of business, industry, competitive landscape, financial/KPI trends, liquidity, and exit strategy.
• Prepare Investment Committee memorandums.
• Develop financial models to review multiple scenarios.
• Build strong relationships with key departments, including Broadly Syndicated Loans, Structured Products, Capital Markets, and Direct Lending Underwriting.
• Monitor existing investments, perform portfolio analytics, and assist in valuations.
• Other duties as assigned.
Candidate Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related financial discipline with an outstanding record of academic achievement.
• 1 to 3 years of leveraged finance, Restructuring, or investment banking experience.
• Experience working with financial sponsors is a plus.
• High sense of urgency and capacity to manage multiple processes simultaneously.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines, work independently, and demonstrate a strong work ethic.
• Detail-oriented with strong financial modeling and accounting skills.
• Comfortable with writing and presenting detailed memos/analytics to the Investment Committee.
• Adherence to work-in-office policies.

Compensation and Benefits:
• Salary range for Associate: $150,000 to $175,000.
• Total compensation includes discretionary awards, medical, financial, and other benefits (401(k), vacation, sick time, parental leave).
• At-will position with potential for salary modification based on performance and market factors.
